Hour Six: Coffee or Tea?

It’s early A.M. here on the east coast and early in the readathon, but I’m awake and ready to read. I’m starting with something quick and easy, like Fangirl or a reread of the Saga series, so I can finish fast and feel productive first thing in the morning.

We’re just beginning so pace yourself friends, pour yourself a cup of coffee or tea, get your stack, and settle in for a comfy day of reeeeaaadinnnngggg!

What’s first up on your readathon stack?

I’ve been reading This Savage Song since the readathon started and I am almost done with it….excited!! I don’t know what to pick up next. Thirteen Reasons Why perhaps?!?

Also hot chocolate all the way. Mhmm wouldn’t trade it for the world although tea is pretty good.

I haven’t been to bed, yet. It’s just after 3a here in Arizona and I’m trying to read Sorcerer to the Crown by Zen Cho. I’m on page 110 of 371 and enjoying it so far, but I think I might need to pause and get some sleep after finishing this – the 9th – chapter. Or I might try to at least read through Chapter 11. (I’m reading this book as part of a group read in Goodreads and the next set of questions for it will go through Ch.11 . . .and are due to be released today.) 🙂

  3. I’m starting with “Smoke” by Dan Vyleta. I actually started reading it last week but have been so busy with work that I haven’t gotten to really settle down and read the thing…until now!

  4. I’m reading The Summer That Melted Everything by Tiffany McDaniel. I’ve read only for 20 minutes so far but I will get more things done as the day goes. But first some coffee! 🙂 Happy reading to everyone!

Usually, it’s tea. But today is so hot outside that it’s cool chocolate milk instead (what we call Cola Cao in Spain).

I’ve started with the second volume in the Grace Valley trilogy by Robyn Carr, Just Over the Mountain. It’s rural/small town + medical romance. I’m very new to the romance genre, but I’m liking it so far. I also love how many subgenres there are. You know exactly what you’re going to get. Like an adult version of fairy tales.

    Happy readathoning!

  7. Finishing up Icebound by Dean Koontz and snacking on some cheese and crackers. Might have to pour myself a nice cup of tea later, but I’m hoping to finish the book within the next hour or two and then start on another.

  8. I started with Out of Darkness by Perez last night & got an hour & a half in before I decided to just go to sleep & get up early to continue. Ended up sleeping later than I meant to, but I’m going to have a cup of coffee, read some of Headstrong (short bios of lady scientists, it’s awesome) & then head outside to mow while I listen to The Paladin Prophecy til I melt haha.

I’m starting with Illuminae since it’s the longest on my stack. I also love both coffee and tea, and hot chocolate and hot apple cider. I drink green tea at work on a daily basis during the winter, and coffee is usually a weekend treat for me or when I’m really tired.

  10. I’m only just getting started. I was out late last night and slept in a but and then noodled around on the Internet for an hour once I was up. I’m starting with A Kind of Intimacy by Jenn Ashworth. I’m almost halfway through it, and it’s enjoyably dark.

There are days that the thought that I will have coffee is what gets me out of bed.
I cracked the spine on A Curious Beginning & liking it!

I’m not a coffee drinker at all, so I’d order up tea, or just water really. I got in one book last night, a YA by Steve Brezenoff, Guy in Real Life. Great characters, I really loved it. Perfect start to my ‘thon! I wish I could go right to reading this morning, but I have to get a workout in before I can enjoy some more stories.

I’m about halfway through George R.R. Martin’s A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, so I’m going to finish off that one first and then pick through my TBR.

Started early this morning with my favorite paper, the Wall Street Journal. Have to do some laundry, but then will continue reading Daniel Silva’s, The Messenger. Really love the series! Hopefully, I’ll finish this one in a bit and go on to others:)

  15. My first task was finishing Practical Magic, which was a breeze since I just devour anything witchy. And now on to Richard Kerridge’s Cold Blood, hoping my love for reptiles and amphibians will keep me sucked in.

2 cups of tea, breakfast and popcorn. Just about to grab a PB+J sandwich for lunch. Almost 3 hours according to my stopwatch. 😀

My first read was Joop: A Novel of Anne Frank by Richard Lourie. It was short and an interesting read so I was able to breeze through it. Then I finished up Go Set A Watchman. Now moved on to an easy light read again, Wish Come True by Patricia Kay. So far I’ve finished just over 7 hours total reading

  18. I started off today with “When Dimple Met Rishi” first, because I was so close to finishing and second, because I had cleaning to do and errands to run and it was an audiobook so I could multitask! Now I’m finished and ready to move on to something new! What to pick, what to pick…..
