Hour 24: Snacks and Stacks

Guys, you’re halfway there!! (Okay, the official timeclock is halfway there.)

You’ve totally got it under control. But, ya know, Sunday is notoriously harder than Saturday on the readathon calendar, deceptively so. You think you know what you’ve got left, you probably got a lot of reading done, and you’re feeling confident. But Sunday is the day when responsibilities that were neglected creep back in, the lethargy from sitting and reading can spell unexpected naps, and you might have trouble getting into that next book because you’ve had a good run so far. So give yourself permission right now to go to bed if you need to, take a break, get some sleep, and start fresh tomorrow.

If you’re a night owl or if you’re not based on the east coast of the US (which is probably most of you), I’ve got another challenge for you. In the comments, leave a photo (or a comment) of your snacks or your stack of books for this readathon weekend. I want to see what’s on your TBR and your TBE (that’s To Be Eaten, obvi). Mostly I want to live vicariously through all of your yummy food and your pretty, pretty stacks. You’ve got until Hour 30 to enter (that’s six hours from now).

Oh, but before you go, the winners of the Hour Zero Intro Challenge are:

  1. My snacks: Nut Bars & Coconut Clusters (both from Costco), as well as various ice cream treats, because yum! ❤

My stacks: the last two books in The Selection series (nearly complete!) and the last two books of the Percy Jackson series … if I manage to get through those last two, I'm not sure what I'll start next. I'm picking up ACOTAR and ACOMAF from the library on Tuesday! 😀

TBR still includes Killers of the Flower Moon, rest are impulse reads. Snacks are my package from graze.com (stupid photo won’t post)

It’s just about bedtime for me, I’m going to fall asleep to the first few pages of Every Morning the Way Home Gets Longer and Longer. Tomorrow I hope to finish TWD Compendium 3, Dragon Keeper by Robin Hobb, and Fun Home, as well as this one.

French Toast for breakfast, and tomorrow’s snacks will be mostly fruit, maybe some popcorn, and I may take a trip to Juiceland.

    Nighty night Readers!

  4. I’m half way through “Cutting For Stone” by Abraham Verghese.

The rest of my tbh pile includes:
Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and

Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe

As for snacks it’s a large coffee and a chocolate chip cookie. It’s midnight in NYC but the nightowl in me wants to keep pushing.

  6. So far, I’ve finished Dumplin and When Dimple Met Rishi, and I’m currently reading The Sun is Also a Star on audiobook and Slasher Girls and Monster Boys! 🙂 My “TBR” is Everything All at Once, Story of Your Life, and The Shadow Queen, although I don’t expect to get to all of them. I’ve only read 9 hours so far, so wish me luck! XD

Maybe I’m going at this all wrong, but my TRB only consists of the book I’m currently reading (Bird Box by Josh Malerman) and one audiobook for those times when I can only listen. I’m not a super fast reader and would rather add a book if I need to rather than feel like I failed at finishing a daunting pile of books.

No midnight snacks for me, I’m afraid. But I did eat ice cream earlier, so I guess that counts?
I have fallen behind and am crushed by the fact I won’t reach 24 hours (8h30 in one day is not bad, you might say, but I’m still disappointed).

My snacks: Hershey Chocolate (of course!) and some veggies.

My stacks: I have a lot of books in my TBR pile for this readathon since I am reading at a friends. I just couldn’t leave without a lot of options! But, I feel as if The Hobbit along with the graphic novel Logicomix might be the next contenders.
