Hour 24: Snacks and Stacks

Guys, you’re halfway there!! (Okay, the official timeclock is halfway there.)

You’ve totally got it under control. But, ya know, Sunday is notoriously harder than Saturday on the readathon calendar, deceptively so. You think you know what you’ve got left, you probably got a lot of reading done, and you’re feeling confident. But Sunday is the day when responsibilities that were neglected creep back in, the lethargy from sitting and reading can spell unexpected naps, and you might have trouble getting into that next book because you’ve had a good run so far. So give yourself permission right now to go to bed if you need to, take a break, get some sleep, and start fresh tomorrow.

If you’re a night owl or if you’re not based on the east coast of the US (which is probably most of you), I’ve got another challenge for you. In the comments, leave a photo (or a comment) of your snacks or your stack of books for this readathon weekend. I want to see what’s on your TBR and your TBE (that’s To Be Eaten, obvi). Mostly I want to live vicariously through all of your yummy food and your pretty, pretty stacks. You’ve got until Hour 30 to enter (that’s six hours from now).

Oh, but before you go, the winners of the Hour Zero Intro Challenge are:

Absolutely loved Hag-Seed and finally found the motivation to finish my 1984 reread. Onto my Best Friend’s Excorcism!

I’ve been trying not to snack but wound up falling prey to some chocolate chip cookies lol

I’m on a nonfic kick, so I’m currently reading How to Kill a City by Peter Moskowitz and have The Case for Impeachment by Allan Lichtman teed up. My snack was some dark chocolate with almonds, which I already ate, so I can’t show you! 😋

On my TBR for today is my daily issue of War of the Worlds (from Serial Reader), my #lotrchapteraday, my #hpchapteraday, my devotional, Saga volumes 3 & 4, finishing Dirty Daddy on audio, and I’d like to make a good dent in Girl in Snow, and finish Lady Mechanika.

To keep me going I’ve got fresh peaches and grapes, jarred coconut, Doritos, tea, coffee, water, and more coffee. 😋

I’ve surpassed my expectations and already finished the two books I had reserved for this, so I’ll have to think what comes next, lol.
As for snacks, and given that it is winter (and late) here, I’m having noodle soup. Though tomorrow I’m likely to have pastries (Sundays are typical pastry days)

  8. I am trying really hard not to snack much as I need to lose weight but it is hot so I have had a few otter pops and a couple homemade snow cones to keep cool today. Just had an Italian BMT from Subway for dinner. Drinking lots of iced tea!!
The stacks: I am currently reading The Rules and listening to the Iron Trial. I think I will be starting Ice like Fire on my Kindle in bed tonight. Saving my graphic novel for tomorrow.

I did not properly plan snacks at all! So far, I’ve had popcorn and a pop tart (and I got a real meal while I was out) So I clearly need pop rocks and popsicles to round out all the pop foods.

  10. It won’t let me add my photo *sigh* but I did just finish off a Boston Cream Pie by myself. Maybe being alone with snacks and great books all day isn’t the best idea for my waistline.
